The Bore Tech Wisher is a specialized bore cleaning attachment designed to eliminate false copper readings that can occur when using traditional brass brushes with copper removers.

Proof-Positive nozzles are made from a special alloy and are further treated. The design is completely brass-free, so the nozzle itself does not add copper to the deposits that can react with cleaning agents. This allows for a more accurate determination of the presence of copper in the bore during cleaning.

The tip material has a hardness similar to brass, but is characterized by high tensile strength, which helps prevent the tip from bending or breaking when working with a tightly installed patch.

Proof-Positive design

The nozzle is equipped with two sets of four contact rings, which ensure tight contact with the patch and contribute to effective cleaning. The first ring of each set is rounded, which centers the nozzle in the bore and reduces the possibility of damage.

The next three rings have a flat contact surface that holds the patch on the nozzle as it passes through the bore. The space between the two sets of rings further holds the clean solvent and aids in its delivery as it passes through the second set of rings.

The length of each nozzle is determined by the caliber and recommended patch size. This design helps prevent the patch from bunching up and getting stuck on the end of the ramrod.

The reverse taper at the rear of the Proof-Positive Rifle Patch Jag provides a smooth transition between the nozzle and ramrod when used with Bore Tech Proof-Positive Bore Stix ramrods .

This design helps center the nozzle and lift the ramrod off the bottom surface of the barrel bore during reverse movement, reducing the risk of the ramrod contacting the muzzle.
